Controlling is very a “hands-on” activity.
If
there
is
sub-standard
performance
then
the
manager
needs
to
engage
with
the
employee
to
find
(and correct) the root cause of the problem.
Performance
problems
should
be
resolved
at
the
lowest possible level of control.
